Years ago, our family chose James 1:27 to guide the charities to support with our annual carnival. When choosing this verse we had no idea that we would soon have a dear friend widowed.

In January 2008, the Lord took Eric C. H. Davis home leaving behind his wife of twenty years, Heather, and their six children. Two of their children are from the orphanage in Liberia that our carnival supported last year and the Davis family was an integral part of our carnival that day!

Please pray for Heather and her children. You can hear Heather's heart on her blog as she learns to become the head of her household.

All monies raised from this year's carnival will go directly into the Davis Family Educational Fund which is being administered by Central Valley Presbyterian Church.

The 2007 Riverbend Ranch Charity Carnival was a huge success. With much work by a tremendous group of volunteers, and the generosity of all who attended, $4127 was raised to send to Acres of Hope.  Due to some matching funds that were later donated, Riverbend Ranch Charities was born giving us some seed money that will allow us to begin giving adoption grants in future! We're thrilled with what the Lord is doing with our family's project. Thank you for helping our mission to bless widows and orphans.
